Basil's not so very good day

Yesterday was a hard day on our little Basil, as he went to the vet to have surgery.  Baz never lost any of his baby canines, and while he was under the anesthesia, we decided to go ahead and get him neutered as well.  So how did I start the morning before dropping him off?  With a small photo shoot of course!  It would be his last time roughhousing for a few weeks.

Tug of war mommy?

Ha-ha, you can't get it

Isn't he so cute?  Ignore his haircut, this was my first attempt at grooming his face and he was very squirmy, so it's incomplete.

Playing with his favorite toy....any of the cats' toys

Nero photobombing with a stinkeye

It's the mad scientist

Here you can see some of his double teeth

The shark attack will bring down Nero for sure

Mommy, why are you only taking photos of Baz?  Aren't I cute?

See...no one can resist this face!

We got in the car and Chase jumped in as well to offer his moral support on the ride. When I dropped him off at the vet (where the vet tech gets kudos for asking how to pronounce his name properly and for throwing in a Fawlty Towers reference), he was well behaved, and weighed in at a whopping 6.2 lbs now.  My little boy is all grown up! I called a few times to check on him afterwards to see how he was doing, and the ladies at the vet always laughed when they came back on the phone to let me know he was doing well.  What can I say, he's a charmer.  He came out of surgery beautifully and is doing well.  The hardest part is getting him to rest, when all he wants to do is play with his brothers and run and jump.  He also has to wear a cone of shame, and he isn't happy about it.  Why do I feel guilty of dog abuse when I look at these next pictures?

Seriously?  I'm too poised for this fashion statement, mom....

Nero is very confused and wonders why he does't have one.

Fine, mommy, if you would rather take pictures of my suffering then take it off me, I'll try Daddy

Please, daddy, please take it off...I'm so pathetic...

Really?  No one?  You sadists!  Right, time to find a new home.

  1. Ohhhh your puppies are so cute! They sure were fun to play with when we visited! Ellie Bellie had to wear one of those cones once when she had a hurt ear; she hated it!

Hope you both are well! Can't wait for you guys to come visit in the fall and see baby Wyatt! :)

    1. Yeah Baz isn't too fond of the collar, and we have to keep taking it off him because he is getting stuck under the bed. Apparently he can get under with it on, but can't get out.

We can't wait to meet baby Wyatt!!!

  2. The brothers are pretty stinkin' cute. Now I need to go watch some Fawlty Towers, so I don't feel left out :)
